The GCT is a pioneer in the field of phosphate rock processing using its own SIAPE process for manufacturing Triple Super Phosphate (TSP). 800000 tons of TSP are produced yearly in the two sites Sfax and M'dhilla.

The SFAX plant is the  first  phosphate rock processing unit which started in 1952. The current production capacities of TSP facilities are :

Sulphuric acid :  1100 tons/day
Phosphoric acid (28% P2O5) :   360 tons/day

Granulated Triple  superphosphate (GTSP) 1000 tons / day

Annual production 330000 tons.

The Sfax facility is the birth place of the processing technology known as the SIAPE process. This method was then developed and implemented at the phosphoric acid and TSP plants at the new industrial centers of Gabes, M’dhilla and Skhira.

The M’dhilla plant is located in the region near the CPG mining center at M'dhilla. It was the first large project to be created using Tunisian skills for its conception, and monitoring startingup. The M’dhilla Plant started in 1985.

This plant comprises :

1 Sulphuric acid
with a capacity of 1500 tons H2SO4 / day

1 Phosphoric acid
with a capacity of  500 tons P2O5 / day

2 TSP lines
with a capacity of 700 tons / day / unit

Annual production is 465000 tons of GTSP.

The TSP produced is transported by rail and shipped from the port of Sfax, where GCT  has storages, bagging and loading facilities in its  terminal port.
