Owing to its know-how and technological mastery of the SIAPE Process, the Tunisian componed fertilizer industry holds a leading position worldwide in the field of phosphoric acid and fertilizer manufacturing .

Thanks to its reactivity and softness, the Gafsa Phosphate Rock is used without prior grinding operations. It reacts with sulphuric acid in a mono reactor equipped with SIAPE type storing rods. This reactivity and softness of the Gafsa phosphate rock and  its high solubility may be applied directly (no additionnal processing) to the soil. More than 80% of the Gafsa Phosphate Rock production is processed by the Groupe Chimique Tunisien into a wide range of fertilizers :

Phosphoric Acid 54% P₂O₅
Diammonium Phosphate (DAP)
Triple Super Phosphate (TSP)
Dicalcium Phosphate (DCP)
Sodium Tripoly Phosphate (STPP) : part of the phosacid is locally processed into STPP
     by one  sister company called  "AL KIMIA" located in GABES.
