SFAX is the leading port for phosphate rock export in Tunisia, with a 32 feet draft and 830 meters length. It is able to accommodate bulk vessels of 35000 metric tons. The daily loading capacity is 7500 metric tons and can reach 10000 metric tons. TSP manufactured at both SFAX and M’DHILLA plants is exported from Sfax port. The berths for TSP export and for sulphur discharge are 350 meters in length and a 32 feet draft, insuring a daily rate according to the size of vessels :

  • 6000 tons / day GTSP in bulk.
  • 2000 tons / day / hatch for bagged GTSP. 
  • 5000 tons / day for solid Sulphur discharge.

The port of SKHIRA specialises in exporting 54% P2O5 phosphoric acid. It has :

A berth length of 300  meters, with a 50 - feet draft.
A phosphoric acid loading capacity of 500
      to 700 metric tons / hour according 
      to vessel size.

Port of Gabes is the main port in southern Tunisia, located alongside the GABES industrial platform. Imported raw materials such as sulphur and ammonia and exported products such as MGA, DAP, NPK, DCP and AN are handled in Gabes port. It has four (4) berths maximum length 1830 meters :

Two berths, 780 meters  with a draft of 39 feet.
Two berths, 950 meters each with a draft of 33 feet.
One servitude berth with 100 meters.

The loading capacities for DAP are :

  • 1500 tons / day bagged DAP.
  • 5000 - 8000 tons / day bulk DAP.

The loading capacity of MGA :

  • 400 to 800 tons-hour of MGA according to vessel size.

The unloading capacities are :

  • 4000 - 6000 tons / day Sulphur according to the vessel size.
  • 10000 tons / day NH3.
  • 400 tons / hour for liquid Sulphur.
